or how to work legitimately in the USA in your field of study

 

Internship USA is a practical training program in the United States of America. In order to qualify for the program, the participants need a job offer by a receiving company offering traineeship positions. The sphere in which they can work must be directly related to their major in the university/college. The position taken must be on a no lower than middle level of professional development. The maximum duration of the training is 12 months. The program is valid yearound and there are no specifically set start or end dates.  The participants are not allowed to work on more than one position or to change their initial employer.


POSSIBLE FIELDS FOR INTERNSHIP:

  • education, social studies, library information activities;
  • management, commerce, finance;
  • industrial and scientific majors, mathematics;
  • architecture
  • agriculture, forestry, fish-farming
  • public administration, media and mass communications
  • healthcare (the participants are not allowed to work with patients directly)
  • tourism
  • web and graphic design

The internship offer is to be provided either by the internship candidate or by the sponsoring organisation in the USA. In both cases, the positions can be located anywhere in the country and  are at companies operating in a field, directly related to the student's major.

 

Current internship positions
 
 

The minimum wage is USD 7.50 – 8.00 per hour, but in most cases pay is higher. The minimum number of weekly working hours are 25, however usually the interns work around 40 hours a week.
