RyanAir – General Information
RyanAir is an Irish low-cost company with a main base in Dublin, Ireland. RyanAir has one of the best developed network which has flights to more than 160 destinations in Europe and Morocco. In the near feature the company considers opening a low-cost flight to the East cost of the United States.
RyanAir claims to have the newest, ecological and quiet fleet in Europe. The average age of its planes was 3.3 years around October. For the first time the fleet of the company achieved 200 planes in 5 September, 2009. The airline is developing fast and the forecasts showed that around 2012 they will operate with 292 planes. Currently it has 255 Boeing 737-800.
The airline is characterized as fast developing, as s result from the liberalization of the air transport in Europe and from the successful “low-cost” business model which it is following. Ryanair is the biggest low-cost airline in Europe and is on third place for a number of transported passengers.
The success of the company has been its commercial strategy for the past few years. In contrast with most of its competitors, Ryanair does not use big and well-known airports, but smaller and remote ones, which still have railway or bus transportation to the bigger cities. This leads to reducing the costs from the high airport fees.
Ryanair has flights to Bulgaria too, as it performs weekly flights from Plovdiv to London and Frankfurt for 6 euro for a one-way ticket.
All other additional services on the board should be paid additional. Alcohol, souvenirs, cosmetics, even financial and bank services are offered on the board.
